The point seems to rather be that European economy could have a better outlook if the labor market was more efficient. Not that safety nets should be cut.

I found it worth a read even though I am pretty familiar with the German labour laws generally.

unlimited possibilities to expand the game scope through a tech tree: - Hyperthreading - interrupts - compressed main memory - L3 caches - TLB caches - CFS - cgroups - TSO/GSO - performance / efficiency cores - dynamic clock speed - thermals - PCI bandwidth / lanes - ...

Game could start with a single CPU and 2-3 processes and then all this comes on top step by step and you can automate it away through tech tree.

Sounds like fusion would be a really good distillation target?

Important to consider that your stat is likely comparing primary energy, not secondary energy. E.g. an electric car or a heat pump use less primary energy than the fossil equivalent.

Owen seems pretty close, especially considering the Nordic variant Ove.

I don't know about SEC rules but the anthropic CEO said they have a 50%+ margin on API pricing.

There's probably like 100m+ people for whom this reads like slightly jumbled math problems.

I recently accidentally broke my GUI / Wayland and was delighted to realize that I can have codex/claude fix it for me.

Issues with my AirPods Max 1:

* occasional deafening screatch when there's too much moisture. I'm surprised they didn't need to recall them over that

* occasional reboots when you move it a bit on your head.

Unfortunately in apple-manner they don't mention if such issues were resolved with this v2

Opus being a frontier model and this being a superficial failure of the model. As other comments point out this is more of a harness issue, as the model lays out.

We have speed pedelecs (45kmph) where I live with extra restrictions compared to normal ebikes which are capped at 25kmph. On the countryside 25kmph just doesn't get you places fast enough.

> And I dont think I would want to share cycling lanes with people doing more than that either

The regulation I wish for is for speed pedelecs to be allowed to use cycle paths whenever the street has a speed limit > 50kmh. Being on a 70-100kmph road as a 45kmph bike is needlessly dangerous when there's a usually idle bike path next to it.

Also I heard there's tricks like going to the calibration with underinflated tires to eek out marginal speed gains.

You gotta keep in mind that the primary goal of this statement is to avert the invocation of the defense production act.

He is trying to win sympathies even (or especially?) among nationalist hawks.

In the late 2000s i remember that "nobody is willing to pay for things on the Internet" was a common trope. I think it'll culturally take a while before businesses and people understand what they are willing to pay for. For example if you are a large business and you pay xxxxx-xxxxxx per year per developer, but are only willing to pay xxx per year in AI tooling, something's out of proportion.

> indirection

Isn't nvc often about communicating explicitly instead of implicitly? So frequently it can be the opposite of an indirection.
