Whoa! Definitely give the commenting engine a try. It is insanely fast. I'm curious how it would work on my old SaaS app that had a ton of data and displayed attached PDFs (that were often scanned images of text, not the actual text) that are huge. Nice work.
Maybe. But user is like a consumer. So HN is multiuser, but seems weird to call HN multi-player. Live concurrent interactions feels like something more than multiuser. Just my 2-cents, but multiplayer as in multiple users acting and interacting is a good use of the term multiplayer.
I'm mid-30s. Dangerously close to upper-30s. Married. Two kids. Non-elite school. No graduate degree. I was in the YC Summer 2013 batch. I wasn't an outlier.
The one thing all YC founders have in common is that we are all incredibly determined. Creating a company is easier than ever but still basically impossible.
My second child was born after submitting the application and before being accepted. The fact that I have kids was on my twitter profile and not hidden.
It's tough. But not impossible. My solution was to cut everything else out. But, I love my family, my co-founder is awesome, and building my company is what I want to do. So, "everything else" should probably have been cut out anyway.
