The other popular hobbyist board lineup with Zigbee is based on the nRF52840. Most of those boards are $20+, so it will be interesting to see what DIY low power IOT options this opens up at the $6 price point (if not perpetually out of stock).
Personally, I'm excited to build a Zigbee local-only garage door opener (my current one is a WiFi based Ratgdo), neophillia might finally motivate me to do it.

My interpretation of OP is the following:
I have different situations for music. I might listen to certain tracks in the early morning, others when coding, and yet others at the gym. If I have song x, I can: like X in the morning, like X for coding, dislike for both, like it for both. Of course, expand the two options to n.
Just like Netflix has different recommendation profiles for different users in a family, music recommendation algorithms should have the ability to make distinct profiles for different moods of one user.
Maybe it's just me, but as a 17 year old who read Anathem a month ago, I still found some of the ideas in Anathem hard to wrap my head around. As a story, yes, a 10 year old could read it, as genuine philosophy, idk. (unless it's a super smart 10 yr old etc etc).

Car centered suburbia is a nightmare of living in parts of the US for teenagers. You can't visit your friends without having someone pick/drop you. Not an immediate concern for you, but just something to consider.
As someone who lives in the US, your description is extremely hyperbolic. If you believe what the news cycles have to say after every incident, sure, but it doesn't really affect everyday life for most people.
> It can be easier to be able to just wear the uniform rather than having to choose what to wear every day.
If someone really has so much trouble deciding what to wear ... just get a bunch of gray t-shirts and sweatpants/blue jeans. You (or the parents for a young child) are free to make your own uniform.
However, if someone feels the need to express themselves through clothing, they are free to do so.
