Tune In: The Beatles: All These Years by Mark Lewisohn. I picked it up as a Beatles fan, but it actually reads more like "how did the Beatles happen" - a social history of the times, the factors that led to each of their development as artists, and their iterative development into the group that we know as The Beatles. Put another way, it's a deep dive into the four founders of one of the most successful artistic organizations of all time and their search for product-market fit. This is also part 1 of 3, ending when they finally achieve PMF, releasing their first number one record.

I'm curious why you pay for those services and not the others. Is it a matter of topics, teaching style?

I struggled for years to get going. My primary blockers were 1) not having a clear vision for why I was blogging or what my blog should be, and 2) concern about finding an audience. I finally started over this summer and am 12 posts in (about one per week).

Agree with you about un-ironic (authentic?) enthusiasm being one of the best human traits. I moved across the country and am getting settled in, trying to make new friends. The culture is a bit different, so it's been slow going. But I've found that digging into and understanding what people are super into is one of the most enjoyable things you can do, and probably the best way to understand who someone really is. Not just what they're into, but why. I've also found that most people really want to share / teach other people about these things, so that's a great way to connect. And I've also realized this has happened in a lot of the deep friendships I've had, just more organically.
