It would be more tolerable if they offered good service. I am moving to a city with one of the largest universities in the US and the fastest internet AT&T even offers is 12 Mbit/s down and 0.5 up.
I don't think anyone is implying that the ads themselves constitute a crime. The issue is that a foreign power attempted to manipulate the public in a certain direction.
Your assertion that "the media" intentionally tries and turns groups against one another is pretty sweeping. Certainly certain advocacy groups attempt to paint their opponents in a bad or even dishonest light, but this is far different than a foreign government trying to manipulate Americans.
The observations are still coming in and things are very uncertain. One astronomer on twitter noted that if the most uncertain measurement were removed that the comet has a 0.9 eccentricity, and therefore likely not an interstellar comet.

It wasn't a currency in the same way that gold isn't a currency. Latinum is supposed to be a substance which cannot be replicated unlike most things so it's valued by, as you say, the avaricious.
At the time ULA was formed it wasn't an error. The US had a serious problem with rocket reliability and lost more than a few very expensive satellites. The devlopment or reliable and on demand access to space was a matter of national security.
