This is the problem with the editors here using weasel phrasing like "pre-existing health problems" while at the same time still strongly implying that this child's condition is caused by starvation. In fact he suffers from cerebral palsy, and other photos from the same photoshoot clearly show his apparently healthy brother and mother present at the same time. Jonathan Turley is the name of a prominent American legal scholar and active journalist, and it's very unlikely he would have initiated any kind of "right to be forgotten" proceeding under GDPR or CCPA. I suppose another Jonathan Turley might have done so, in which case this is having undue adverse effect on the more famous Jonathan in order to protect the less famous one ^^ Seems to me like just another example of how ham-fisted our current attempts to censor these models really are.

If you're interested in a slightly more nuanced exploration of the history of this 'idea', you could check out Thomas Sowell's short essay on the subject: https://www.hoover.org/sites/default/files/uploads/documents...

Out of curiosity, why is this post flagged? I saw two (or maybe three?) other posts today highlighting Gemini's seeming inability to generate images of white men without specific prodding, all flagged and deleted. Are these discussions not allowed on HN?
