Can you give concrete examples of "something impossible happens based on known physics"? I have followed the AI debate for a long time but I can't think of what those might be.
I have no stance on whether this is good/ethical/art at all but given all the "it's obvious that these images are by an AI", "so called AI art doesn't have soul and that's why people won't use it" or "it can't compete with real human art" takes of late it was kind of refreshing to see someone make this point.
• Bit of a personal axe but I wish I'd been aware: If somebody who you've been in correspondence with for years replies to one of your emails, then Gmail will not chuck that reply in the spam folder without notice (the followup reply from the same person didn't suffer that fate for some reason).
That it sometimes without discernible pattern does the same thing to a mailing list I repeatedly told it to mark as not spam is comparatively sane behavior I've come to accept over time. Keeps me on my toes I guess.
I live in the South Bay and I'm considering hosting a meetup either at my house/backyard or at a nearby park. Is there a way or preferred format for me to gauge interest or announce it? Making a top level post just for that feels a bit silly but that's the best idea I have.
