This is why I am wary of subscriptions of any kind. It’s a battle to get rid of an unethical company once they have a straw in your milkshake.
Here's another instance of the same complaint (https://community.teamviewer.com/English/discussion/109466/a...)
It looks like someone from the company reached out in the comments section:
> I just saw your post this morning. I'd like to help resolve this as quickly as possible, if I can. I'm not exactly sure what happened in your case. This doesn't sounds fair or right, and isn't a TeamViewer business practice.
Not sure where it went from there though
edit: there’s a second page of comments where the issue appeared to be resolved but many others reported the same issue and were ignored

It most definitely is there business practice, same thing happened to us.
Parallels Access is a good substitution for TeamViewer, at $20/year.
Happened here too.

Doesn't sound too bad at first, does it? Now what they didn't tell us (and you have to dig really deep to find out), our "free upgrade" to version 12 is just another trial which ends the same day as our version 15 trial would.
But even if we were able to use the version 12 upgrade indefinitely, it's no longer possible to create a branded / custom QA client for it. TV only allows that for the most recent version.
So our options come down to paying the rather insane yearly subscription price, or not using it at all anymore. Well, we opted for the latter and are now shipping Anydesk instead with all future installations.
