It would help if people who were voting against each other were at least allies when it came to country and constitution, life and liberty, but it increasingly appears that a good many people are simply voting to try and upend the entire thing.
If it keeps going that way then war is simply inevitable because people will get to the point where they literally have no choice but to, at great sacrifice, urgently stop radicals from cannibalizing basic civic stability and economic prosperity. Otherwise there won’t be any country left to vote and thrive in.
It’s my opinion that anyone who wants to vote should be required to go through the same process as someone who wants to become a citizen, demonstrate an understanding and respect for the foundations of what they wish to participate in and not be “allowed in” if they are found to actually an enemy to it.
Vote suppression they will say, but what’s wrong with that if it’s suppressing something that wishes only to destroy?

I think there is a disentangling of the two sides: media, states, companies, people, etc... It appears to be fractal. States are turning left and right. Cities going left and right. Suburbs going left and right. Media going left and right.
Why would you not want to fight nazis?
Branding the conservative part of the country as nazis and making ridiculous statements about white supremacy being the greatest threat to this country is part of the problem. There is plenty of lunacy on both sides of the political spectrum.
One side acting as if they are arbiters of truth and justice, when everyday we have to live with the destruction that they've shown not only in this country but the world, does more to unbalance and polarize than all the conspiracy theories of the right thrown together.

"Why would you not want to fight radical socialists?"

War is terrible. Violence is terrible.
War is terrible. Violence is terrible.
The political right believes it is its god-given right to rule over America without interference by leftists, non-whites, and other undesirables, and is actually planning to kick off the apocalypse all on their own, especially if it doesn’t occur organically.
The right might be batshit insane, but they’re still almost half the country - and almost all of them are wrapped up in anti-reality fake-news delusions that fly in the face of real-world evidence (just look how many smooth-brained ignoramuses still think that the election was stolen despite zero evidence and scads of Republican and Trump-appointed judges throwing out the lawsuits for lack of evidence). It’s a powder keg that only needs the right match to detonate.
