why did they capitalise ‘black’ in the article but not ‘white’
Some style guides call for that.
To me, it's bogus. Capitalize both, or neither. (Yes, I know, some have a hand-wavy rationalization about how "Black" is a cohesive something whereas "White" is not. I strongly suspect that it's bogus.)

Hello! I read in an old post that you worked for Quanta. My name is Humberto Mockel, I´m form Bahia Blanca, Argentina. I´m a volunteer for a retro computers museum in my city.
