Wish we could qualify title: "Putin Declares Partial Mobilization".
I suppose "partial" is just semantics; looks like all reservists have been called up, a "full" mobilization would just add in a "full, national draft."
Maybe it doesn't matter - this article hasn't got a lot of attention, and since most analysts are saying any mobilization won't have much effect for maybe 12 months, it's mostly posturing and politics at this point.

Every man without severe health issues is a reservist in Russia.
Even mild health problems only free you from serving a mandatory military service, but you are still considered as a soldier in second queue of reserve.
I feel "partial" in 'partial mobilization' intends to be deceptive. The version of the decree released to the public [1] contains nothing limiting number of recruits. That number is specified in a classified portion of the decree [2]. If it simply stated the same number Putin and Shoigu claim (300k), I doubt it would need to be classified.
Sounds like they're masking this as "partial" mobilization in the same way they've masked their war as a "special military operation."

And just hours later, we're starting to see reports claiming exactly this: "Hidden paragraph of Putin's decree allows to mobilise 1 million Russians".
Granted, that's a Ukrainian news article, but I won't be surprised if the true scope of Putin's claimed "partial" mobilization ends up being far more than they're masking it as.

Those are pretty good points, thanks.
Plz stop, too many ppl killing each other for we don't know why.
Ukrainian forces are an army of millions getting weapons from all over the world now.
It is escalating.
Need a way out of this conflict.

"We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm." - George Orwell.
I think everyone already know the way out of this conflict. Putin needs to pull out of Ukraine, or someone else in Russia needs to do it for him. This whole war is about his ego. Unable to win in the first few days as intended, now he's just continuing/escalating it in a futile attempt to save face
He's incapable of accepting defeat at this point, and since most people in Russia seem to be supporting this war, the only answer seems to be the assassination of Vladimir Putin. He needs to die like the Hitler he has become.
We know why. Putin has stated that he wants to reassemble much of the former USSR into some kind of "Greater Russia". And so he has been seizing parts of Ukraine since 2014 to gain access to their farmland and mineral resources. As long as he remains in power there is no way out of this conflict and negotiations are mostly pointless. The killing will continue.
There are many reasons which were cited, but in the end, we don't know:
- take over the newly discovered fossil gas reserves from in-land and at-sea of Ukraine.
- terminate for good the since-2014 donbass border conflict by taking over the donbass for the pro-russian ukrainians (which would become russians) and brutally expelling the pro-ukranian ukrainians.
- "getting" rid of a 4000 weaponized neo-nazi "azof" bataillon.
- "drug addicts" ???
- the religious-grade "greater russia" (similar to the relgious-grade "one china" with taiwan).
I play dota2 (on elf/linux ofc), mixed ukrainian-russian teams are from the best in the world, and are _CURRENTLY_ competing. Will they be considered "traitors" in their respective countries?
It does not make any sense at all, really not.

The way out is for Russia to leave Ukraine. That's it.
