Why use Cassava over other options, such as Excel, CSVLint, or Notepad++?

Also, have you considered supporting Windows and Linux?

This is a very useful project. Thank you for taking it on!

I just spent at least 30 minutes reading instead of mindless scrolling. This reminded me of the good feelings I had when I first used the web. The content is novel and written for the authors enjoyment. The web was better for people then and you just recreated that.

I like the minimal version better, but it is hard to use on mobile. If there was a way that you could make a minimal version with better accessibility and larger fonts, I’d use that. Until then, I’ve bookmarked the modern version.

Aren’t large decisions made up of small, day to day micro decisions?

Great concept. Culturally, I think we are better at understanding this than ever before.

In the last 15–20 years, many people have been forced into an uncomfortable moment due to job loss (Great Recession, COVID, AI etc). They have learned to recover. Could this be why we see more entrepreneurs than ever before now?

I believe we clutter our workspaces because we suck at keeping iterations short. We always want to add one more feature, tweak one more thing, etc.

Eventually, some external pressure (boss, client, IM, whatever) causes us to open a second context simultaneously. Then it happens with a third, a fourth, etc

This is happening because the world is expecting shorter and shorter time to results due to better tooling in the last 10 years, but most have not figured out that all the LLMs and agents in the world won’t shorten the loop, only the person using them can do that.

I find that for any given problem, if I don’t see results in 30 minutes, it’s time to stop that problem and likely reshape it. If I don’t actually get the result in 90-120 minutes, I’m doing something wrong.

I currently work in an ERP adjacent industry serving M&D. I don’t think this is as beneficial as you think it is.

Your value prop lands really well with the Software Architect in me. That part of my skill set loves the idea of creativity, flexibility, etc.

The Director in me does not want that. That sounds like a money pit, never done, management nightmare. What kind of dev do I hire? Do I need a Product Manager for that? How long will it take? Sounds too hard to get a win as a senior leader.

Most of the software in the adjacent space (and ERPs) have “prescriptions” or an ecosystem to get customizations done. Code may get deployed in a special assembly, a special SDK exists, etc

A prescriptive way to get the job done is much more preferred for predictability, even if it is not as loved by the developers.

I think Carbon is a neat and ambitious offering - happy to chat more with you if desired.
