Can you tell us more about your startup? How does it work? I've always thought it would be interesting to move the word of mouth job knowledge to a software tool. I know all the jobs we have open at my company and my friends know their open jobs. Why not share these openly either anonymously or via your friend network. Show who's moving where and what they're doing now in some easy to digest format.
Where is the app around this post? I've always thought it would be interesting to have some social network way to know about jobs via friends and previous co-workers. LinkedIn has never really done much for me and it seems you have to be more proactive there.
Instead of "own the content" I should have said tv usage data ( season passes, what's recorded, etc ). Too bad these companies aren't into sharing their data and providing open apis like netflix.
They would be smart in leveraging existing social networks like facebook. The only good facebook integration I've seen is visual bookshelf.
Where did you confirm that these guys use amazon for their product look up? I've been wondering what they use to look up the products and get images, etc.
I sometimes feel the way you do. I started a local ratings company and then google and yahoo ratings took off. Interestingly enough it never really caught on and yelp perhaps has done a much better job. I've tried babysitting coops, and several other ideas all which failed. However the more I read, the more you discover that the key to success is working hard and trying lots of ideas and constantly refining those ideas quickly. I take myself too seriously at times and I really need to start having more fun with my side projects. Your broad range of ideas and knowledge is the important thing here, it will greatly benefit you in the long run.
I thought the dropped call problems were over until yesterday. I have to turn off 3G in order to make a call. This phone is pathetic when it comes to making calls. My razr was so much better as a phone.
