professional engineer license is required in addition to graduating and other prerequisites to be called "professional engineer" tho, no? school alone is not enough to be designated a "professional engineer", right?

smell test says there would be legal implications for the owner of the platform if they were to feature the automation of the circumvention of something about copyrights or what's the word I'm looking for?

Richard G was HEAVY into time bandits (1981) and Ultima 2 (1982) on were heavily influenced and easter eggs for the movie are spread all over. The airplane in New San Antonio for example...

I worked with db2 people back in 98 and they talked about shards. They worked down in some cave in the basement that smelled like folgers coffee, feet, and camel filter bbq sauce. I would offer them a roll of TP each and every time they said the word. Their office chairs had seat-cushions that looked like they were pulled out of a dumpster fire, worn out and melty looking. With all the red meat, nicotine, and caffeine, Im assuming someone sharded there at least once. Maybe that is what got those seat cushions all worn out.

since Ultima deals with time travel, I accept your "history altering" claim. Long live Lord British! (RG has been to the deepest sea and the space station, so who can say he doesnt also have a time machine. He is a real adventurer who made Ultima- one of the best adventure rpg lines ever)

I signed up for beta testing of UO and beta of roadrunner cable modem and I still have the Beta cd and cable modem. I bet you can narrow down what city I was in from that but oh well. I might still even have that old acer pentium 75 in the attic that was delivered damaged to my employer and was comped by ups insurance and taken to my personal dumpster and fixed by yours truly. my first very own computer. I learned to program on that thing and got a bank job just a few months later. gradually this has taken me around the world in 8 different countries for long on-site implementations. I even have dual citizenship now and live by the sea in a nice hot place. I was 19 years old when it kicked off. I blame the video games for all this. Btw did you know Time Bandits movie was a heavy influence on Ultima? And is Marvel's multiverse concept inspired by Ultima sharding also? I would bet a dollar. Well everytime I think about portability and scalability problems I am sure UO is back there somewhere influencing my work.

Its a lifestyle that glorifies plastic and results in the mass production of it. Its marketed so well that many just refuse to see it. Its like the tobacco of plastics. One brick can last 1300 years. Do you REALLY need your toys to last 1300 years?

True creativity can use a responsible sustainable medium.

Take a look at this mess:

in this case a satellite enabled candybar. the disaster recovery policy and budget should be applicable here. make sure its able to share xg and satellite tunnel for maximum value. ensure the reporting system is satellite enabled also. added points if its sending alerts 2 your handy byod. Disaster recovery is a big deal in 2024. All sorts of factors make satellite redundancy valuable in todays reality: Coworkers on a hike or a boat, random 0-day stuff, and war can cut your normal internet.. i have experienced all of these and only in the last 4 years and more than 1 time on each topic. Train your users to destroy it in case of war as its trackable by military tech. Put a sticker on it. Check out stackexchange for questions like this tho?

its sometimes called booger glue or snot glue. Apple uses cut flaps to hold their sim tools without the need for chemical glue. same concept will work fine here. I buy all my sd cards directly from a manufacturers site, only from the manufacturer, such as samsung or westerndigital dot com, avoiding any affiliate or 3rd party vendors that can sneak onto sites like which do on the apple store. 0 fake cards this way

You can do it without tape if the correct sized corner or edge flaps are cut into the card stock. Think "apple sim tool unboxing card stock flaps". could cut some cool design also or note that professional vinyl cutting shops have expanded so they can print and cut same time on cardstock to make a cool card- super cheap and likely with near-on-demand turnaround

Relatively true in that they all became relatives.

"One guy I know got the title for filing a patent that hasn't even been commercially used"

Make him sing the song for you. Also, who do you think would win in a cage-match? The Colonel or Ray Croc?

the other details are also relatively true. The Colonels employees were armed and yelled at Stewart. Stewart was killed by a cop and rumors say he was paid to inflict retribution. Sanders married Claudia, who was Stewarts-daughter's-husband's-sister (Ona May Stewart married one of Claudia's brothers) and Sanders later co-owned a business with Stewarts daughter , Ona May. Straight shooter quote is true. KFC was born in the gas station near where it all shot off. Many do not know- To become a Kentucky Colonel, the Governor of Kentucky needs to sign off on it. They have a handshake and a song.

ahh my bad, all these years I was wrong- I see now that The Colonel rode up with two of his armed employees and got one of them killed and his competitor (Stewart) jailed who died by gunshot about 2 years later. Some say the cop that shot him was payed off with white buckets full of cash. Soon after the Colonel's gas station started selling white buckets full of addictive fried chicken infused with herb and spice and the Colonel married Stewart's daughter-in-law. Later, Stewarts daughter became the Colonel's right hand, and managed a big operation for him. She is quoted as calling the Colonel "a straight shooter". One big happy family style story. Someone should make a movie

Sanders might sound A LOT like Gordon Ramsay in this article, but I doubt Gordon ever shot and killed a man over a turf war and beat up one of his legal clients. I think I remember hearing the Colonel beat down at least one of his bosses. He must have coated himself in restaurant-grade teflon as he seemed to get away with it.. Should have called it Gangster Fried Chicken.
