> the amount they give you is immaterial to hurting them and can be material to you.

It’s immaterial to Apple if I stole an iPhone from the Apple Store too.

> Also, he said that he's somehow stumbled into somehow having a commercial bottling license. If him, why not us?

Because he is a commercial bottler who is sampling from different supplier that he intends to source from for his business.

The irony with Google, er alphabet, a search company, is that the search feature are deeply flawed in their products.

If you have thousands of resources in GCP, for example, the search is not super helpful.

I think it’s intellectually stimulating that people are taking a systemic and scientific approach for a niche kind of restaurant

Funny enough, I’m a Vietnamese person from Portland and was doing this exact same analysis in Paris (highest density of overseas Vietnamese population) visiting a dozen places last month.

People visiting for a few days go with a “10 restaurants you have to try in Portland” which are just mediocre chic restaurants you can find in every other city. They don’t realized how underrated Asian food in Portland is. One, Google Maps and Yelp reviews are negative signals of for Asian food. Restaurants that highly rated above 4.5 are so for the “ambience” rather than the food. Two, the restaurants are dispersed rather than being concentrated around a Chinatown or Little Saigon.

And Pokémon cards because this generation has less ability to afford big purchases like a house or having a child

Git is the API.

Github/Gitlab would be a provider of the filesystem.

The problem is app developers like Google want to own your files.

FWIW, the founder of HashiCorp created Vangrant when they are in college.

Why did Terraform end up being the dominant product? Product-market fit. That’s not just engineering, but bringing to market a product at the time when people need and understand it. This includes marketing and educating. Also, Terraform has an ecosystem of prebuilt providers. NPM as a package manager is not as well designed as other systems, but it’s arguably been the most successful. While the internal prop tech you mentioned may be more advanced, it’s not obvious you had the right product people with vision to build out that ecosystem. Most managers and product people at large companies aren’t tech savvy beyond buzzwords

> They don't have this kind of people

Because the people with vision and conviction would be running their own startups

> the irs hasn't offered too much guidance on how this tax change works.

They didn't offer too much guidance for trading crypto either. I reported my trades as you would for stocks. They ended up auditing me and charging me for $300k in profits when I made $3k (they did not recognize cost basis of my trades, yet decided to respect the sale proceeds) circa 2015. Meanwhile, people who did not report at all probably got off the hook.
