Same here. Did it once and it saved my life. Point is it was only legally accessible to rich people. I.e. I had to fly to amsterdam pay for pre and post psychotherapy and multi day care. This is so wildly different to recreational use.
Yes people are missing the point here. I'm in Australia and I know when I check reddit groups moderated in other countries they are full of hate - like 4chan when the mods are asleep. I've seen an unmoderated reddit even just for a few hours, the site will be destroyed if people give up their unpaid voluntary work. They need the tools because it's not their fulltime job.
Do you have serious depression with persistent suicidal thoughts? If not then this isn't designed for you. If you do then the last thing you'd be worried about is someone at work finding out because the alternative is to kill yourself.
Exactly. Pay me well and let me choose who to be friends with and how to spend that money. I used to work at a company that told you how much all their culture spend was per employee it was eye watering they could have doubled everyone's salary and had a much happier workforce.
Agree. People choosing to work at a remote first company likely abhor "The Office" style "culture" that you describe. It's the specific reason we hate everything you describe and you will just come off as a Michael Scott character to employees.
To find a project on our SAP system you had to know a code. If you did a search for the name of the project you had to put a * at the start and end of the search otherwise it would show no results. What is this the 1980s?
Now that's one simple process imagine that on every single step. SAP is worst software I've ever used.
Sorry but have you actually used a SAP system. I worked at a company that spent $80m on a SAP system that was comically worse than the system that came before it. To the point that people left the business because it made their working days so unpleasurable. This same story has happened at multiple businesses I know. But it's sunk cost fallacy - once the CEO and board has endorsed spending $80m everyone's just going to pretend it's fine.
Musk literally believes in the Chinese model of 996 work culture. He does practice what he preaches but has string of failed marriages to show for it and has no problem calling out anyone who doesn't do the same. So providing a counterpoint is good. Frankly I'd prefer to work at a remote company like air bnb.
It's easy. You need to do regular activity with same group. To be clear the point is not if you are good at the activity it's to meet people:
Team sports
Improv
Acting
Running group
Meditation group
Etc etc
Point is you are seeing them repeatedly so friendships develop.
Especially good are retreats/activity weekends because you will spend concentrated time with people.
The guy puts in a tremendous amount of work and research and releases some of it for free. If you want every edition then pay for it. Also he is an individual not some mega org.
