> And even car racers avoid swearing in public.

That’s absolutely not true. Watch any F1 race and within the first few minutes you will hear a censored drivers radio. IIRC F1 tried to penalize drivers who swore too much on the radio and faced massive backlash from the drivers

Is that not also a concern for window AC units?

I pay for a ton of sports content across a ton of platforms. I used to pirate a ton of sports across a ton of platforms.

I don’t seem to have nearly the same difficulty as you. I wanted to watch the Olympics so I reactivated my Peacock account, paid for a month, then immediately canceled it. I’ve never had consistent issues finding where I could watch a particular game. It is aggravating that my MLBTV subscription doesn’t work when my team plays on an Apple TV broadcast but that’s 1-2 times a year.

Maybe I was not good at piracy but it took just about the same effort to find the right links, deal with constant buffering, etc. But I find it pretty phenomenal that I can easily watch just about any sporting event now with little difficulty

Agree it’s efficient, don’t agree that an untrained person could unbrace double bodyweight.

I weigh 90kg and can squat ~190kg. Having that much on my back feels HEAVY. I think if you haven’t built up to it before you will not be able to do that

Pilots and surgeons surely have easily accessible bathrooms as a part of their workplace, no? They’re also compensated significantly more and (IMHO) given a lot more dignity

In my city public bathrooms are extremely rare and it’s not trivial to find one. I’m sure taxi drivers are a bit more in tune with where they are out of necessity but even then it’s no guarantee they can find convenient parking/be in the right place/etc.

Sanjay is/was well known enough that you could have just used “Sanjay facts”

DC, Chicago both have good coverage (I lived in both without a car, although did need busses at times).

Boston and SF in my limited experience have somewhat usable networks but definitely a step below

I was shocked at how much even perfunctory messages from coworkers meant when I got laid off. And the folks that offered tangible help have stayed in my mind since. It was the most challenging time in my life and even a simple message saying they would miss me or something like that helped so much.

Before I got laid off I was always hesitant to reach out to other folks who were laid off, now I try to make a point of it, even if it’s to apologize

Is that true? Nearly everything online argues against that
