I mean it's also simply because of the motivations of the owner. Musk is all onboard with bots shaping the discourse, that's why he bought Twitter so he could control the media environment for his investments.
one thing i notice on X is how many slop bot replies there are. just very not-human like replies, like a mob of slop machines ready to jump on the slopt train and hype the bubble.
on bsky you get actual variation in replies. people actually saying things.
I just want enough money to retire and write interesting open source software, but doing that in my 20s made me poor, so since then I am trying to speed run retirement so I can go back to it.
Sadly, while I find AI effective, I also find it's removed the craft and personal reward I get from open source. So I will instead grow potatoes.
It was relevant due to Python Foundation having to reject what used to be regular government funding because they started adding ideological clauses to it.
