I do not agree at all with his contrasting definitions of “vibe coding” vs “automatic programming”. If a knowledgeable software engineer can say that Claude’s code is actually theirs, so can everyone else. Otherwise, we could argue that Hell has written a book about itself using Dante Alighieri as its tool, given how much we still do not know about our brains, language, creative process, etc.

Keep in mind the purpose of all this “research” and “improvement” is just so OpenAI can have their cake (advertise their product as psychological supporter) and eat it too (avoid implementing any safeguards that would be required in any product for psychological support, but harmful for data collection). They just want to tell you that so many people write bad things it is inevitable :( what can we do :( proper handling would hurt our business model too much :(((

I went down the same rabbit hole when designing my own website, and I came out of it feeling like css as a whole is redundant. I also do not agree on not using default font families (not sure what’s wrong with them except for aesthetic reasons, something that I have never looked for in any of the websites I ever visited) or restricting content width (sometimes you may actually want longer lines to adapt to your window). One other thing that I would suggest is to make sure the font size is the same in both portrait and landscape mode on smartphones (landscape text is bigger than portrait text iirc).

A completely absurd and clearly biased article trying to defend the impossible. Age verification is somehow supposed to be bad for online porn content providers (even though it is already mandatory for real-world porn content providers, for obvious reasons) because... it would hurt their profits and is not 100% effective. Child labour laws also severely hurt company profits and are not 100% effective; so much so that companies choose to delocalize production plants in the opposite part of the world, just to be able to continue exploiting workers. I guess child labour laws are bad too, and must be stopped.

My favourite and most out-of-touch part of the article was the one in which they argue it is "a fallacy" to think pornography can be harmful to teenagers because "research into pornography’s impact on children is limited and inconclusive — prompting calls for further study". I actually laughed out loud at this part
