So I removed auth for the main page you login at and the links to tags. Everything else will require login. I think this was a great idea, I've been in my own bubble and yes, not everyone is just gonna login.
I built this as something I needed for my portfolio, and to challenge myself as a developer with only 3 and a half years of experience. I know the code is kinda bad, but I also know I'm not a horrible dev, so I really wanted to learn as much as I could during this project.
I'm using auth0 for oauth, SSL, and express in my node middleware. I'm using Material UI and react-router for my frontend.
If anyone noticed I left client secrets, or finds a bunch of bugs, or just has general suggestions, I'd really appreciate getting sent them to [email protected].
I understand that Electron apps tend to be a resource hog, but what other options for software create as many cross platform opportunities with as much work? I think for every single greedy developer/company there's another small software project only able to get off the ground because of the maximized opportunities. This is coming from a relatively new full time developer who's trying to get a small side project off the ground.
On the API docs, there's plenty of code examples and a caching feature which is awesome, but I wish the docs at https://stripe.com/docs/development could be cached like the API docs.
The cooking thing really hits home. I work in a high stress, banking environment at a fortune 500 company, and I eat out most days. I know theoretically how to cook, but between the time it takes to shop, cook, and clean, AND I'm doing well financially it's so hard to convince myself to cook. Living alone doesn't help either.
I especially feel this, my fiance is a biologist, we each have our own "language" we speak. I've learned more from him about communication than anyone else I've ever met!
What if one used audio feedback while using soli, eg swiping made a literally swiping noise, turning your hand clicked every notch you turned on a volume slider.
