I think it has something to do with the classification of malignant pathological behavior as “illness” or “disease” which innures people to certain mindsets.

The idea that behavioral qualities can be represented as either “sick” or “healthy” provides for belief that individuals who commit atrocities might be identified by externalized qualities.

So we say: Mental Illness, but to ascribe that label is to claim that there is a recognizable state required, with externally verifiable traits exhibited, before a terrible act may be performed, and that really isn’t the case at all.

People really want to apply the full weight of psychological diagnostics to every misbehavior and deviation from healthy, wherever such misbehavior is willful, and that’s simply an incorrect notion.

A person might get up one day, having never abused an animal, and suddenly decide today’s the day that a bad thing happens, and then never repeat that episode. So, how do we rationalize the universe, if such a thing is possible? Well... as unpleasant as it may be, we find that the universe is quite happily irrational, and so too, human behavior.

Ugh. Geeze. There are so many really horrible, permanent, life-shortening-if-not-absolutely-lethal diseases that will basically make people never buy another plane ticket again, just to think of that possibly happening to the rest of your previously reasonable, but now ruined life.

Say what you will about officers of the same gender, and whether or not that precludes sexual pleasure being experienced on the part of the officer. That anyone has ever been lined up next to three complete strangers at an airport, and had that happen, should strike mortal fear into the hearts of anyone setting foot inside an airport.

More than planes disappearing over the ocean without any known cause. More than planes being willfully smashed into moutains or buildings. That one should cut right through the rest of the noise.

Standing in a room, effectively at gunpoint, with two angry women (who either have no medical training, or having medical training and maliciously deviate from it for their own reasons), and find yourself forced to share fluids from the orifices of three strangers.

Imagine this same story taking place in a private hangar, a strip search at gunpoint the hands of a Cessna pilot acting as a private citizen, that results in accidental transmission of a life threatening disease. This is the kind of physical transgression that puts ordinary criminals in jail with multiple life sentences, as violent offenders.

It’s interesting to notice that what we have here is one industry being villified, and then possibly passing the buck, only to point at another industry as possibly to blame.

It’s pretty interesting to think about how easy it is to muddy the waters like this. Something starts off as a direct medical concern, but then sprals into a secondary contamination problem. Both are bad. Plastics are bad for a variety of reasons, and sugars definitely contribute to obesity.

But, horomonal factors really cannot be shrugged at. There’s some serious distortion affecting people for the past 20 or more years, and it’s nothing normal. Is it birth control pills being dumped down the drain, and recirculating into the drinking water? Is it ibuprofen messing with people who have over dosed on their analgesic NSAIDs?

One thing’s for sure modern civilization has inteoduced many complications, all simultaneously, and that is likely the biggest mistake of all.

Also, I’m not sure you’ve used the word “parsimonious” correctly? Are you trying to say they’ve been “very careful” or “strict”? I think it’d be more appropriate to replace it with “well aligned” or “concomitant” if a vocabulary word should be preferred.
