Sorry, I guess I must have gotten redirected when logged in or something like that. It is indeed the app you are linking to and the developer of both mapy.cz and windy maps is indeed Seznam.cz, which is the "Czech Google" as much as Yandex is for Russians for example. They are the #1 Czech news/email/search/maps/... provider and have been since the nineties. Windy.com is an interactive weather map company, but also founded and owned by the same owner as Senznam.cz, and I guess they tried to combine the English rebrand of the maps with the ability to show interactive weather, which is indeed a bit odd.
I have been working on https://pancakes.cloud for the same reasons. No prose, strong sense of community and the recipes being just plaintext in the end. However, without good contributions, I don't think any such site can thrive.
https://pancakes.cloud - A minimal recipe web app which stores all recipes in simple plaintext format and lets you share your recipes with the community. All this, but without all the fluff, ads, stories and infinite scrolling before you get to what you actually want.
As if today's extremely successful entertainment didn't build exactly on the "something for everybody" idea. Take the insanely popular movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as an example. Has mainstream media really changed in this regard?
If you would like to try, the beta access key is currently set to 0qWgGgohJ88MO6sb
Both for you and anyone else considering signing up: Please keep in mind that this is a work in progress and I give no guarantees of any kind. If you'd like to get in touch regarding anything, my email is in my bio.
I built it for myself, but a few friends have already asked to use it because they are fed up with how bloated and ad-heavy most recipe websites are these days.
