we avoid it very well with our kids but sometimes I am worried it won't make a difference in the long run and we are just doing hard mode for no reason. kids are pretty adaptable. will be interesting to see in 10-15 years.
The job hopping thing was definitely a trend, but I think it died with ZIRP. kinda weird to reference it now, but I guess it does have relevance to the state of some of these older services. The original teams are long gone
The collapse of FTX had huge rippling real world effects. Genesis got jammed up, which froze all assets in Gemini Earn and other defi platforms. Customers assets have been frozen for months now. Of course all investors assume risk in this case, but it is a real world effect.
At least at fang you can write a mostly plaintext document instead of PowerPoint. Downside is you would probably have to do it before making the changes, have it reviewed by the entire team and get “alignment”
not exclusive to azure as aws lambda requires API gateway now, but if i wanted to create a cloud function, azure auto generates like 2-3 other separate requires services for storage, http endpoint, etc
ultimately they are selling out inventory so it probably takes a lot of convincing to spend money on a cat and mouse game
