Interesting to see that both Gold and US large cap stocks returned +20% in 2024, when there’s usually a minimal (or even negative) correlation between those asset classes.
With the insane growth streak that Canadian real estate has had, I’m not surprised that many households have decent net worth yet poor cash flow.
Lots of people bought households in Toronto / Vancouver for <$500k which are now valued at ~$2M. People are drawing on home equity line of credit to fund their lifestyles (vacations, renovations, new car, etc.)
I’m an American living in South Korea and am always shocked to see how locals will just leave their phones unattended — on the table in the restaurant or cafe while they order or use the washroom.
