It's not just "the rich" that wouldn't want this. Do the simple math, if I make 100k a year, which is middle class in most of the US, I would be paying >25% in taxes, which would be at least over 25k. It's a heavy burden to the middle class, and the people it really only benefits are the ones in poverty.

A human right should be a right that could be held throughout any time in any place. If the internet is a human right, were people 1000 years ago being denied of this human right? The overuse of the term "human right" will only devalue the meaning of "human right".

Do you expect the rich of society to willingly just distribute their wealth? A powerful state would be necessary for anything like that to occur. And every single time this has been tried the state takes a huge grab at power and refuses to let go. This isn't because "REAL Communism" hasn't been tried, many people with their idea of what Real Communism is have tried it in many countries all with significant differences in their culture and power structure, but it all ends up the same.

The Libertarian's man, Ron Paul, refused to endorse MCcain or Obama because "because there were no real differences between them, and because neither of them, if elected, would seek to make the fundamental changes in governance that were necessary". He then went on to tell his fellow Libertarians to vote 3rd party "rather than contribute to the “charade” that the two-party election system had become".
