I actually herald from the 486 era. I am old. I just noticed a shift in how we use AI as a clickbait buzzword and was commenting on that. slow down guys. stop calling it AI.
What do you mean by "low-tech AI"? This isn't AI...It's a behavior tree. Calling every decision-making system "AI" is like calling a flowchart a neural network.
What you're describing is a behavior tree: predefined logic, predefined responses, no learning, no inference, no model.
meh, language learning has an inconvenient truth: sometimes it’s just rote memorization. it's the reflexive belief that every human endeavor must have a hidden optimization waiting to be discovered. Language learning is one of those domains that stubbornly replies, "Cool flowchart. Now memorize 500 words and spend 200 hours listening."
There’s no clever engineer hack that replaces time spent with the language. and with regard to japanese, please stay away from romaji, unless you're still in beginner stage and typing things out to communicate words you already know the phonetics to.
except you dont' get a "human" when you buy "premium support", you get a chatbot with elevated access. source: ex-colleague who use to work at CSE team for IG and Whatsapp.
sigh the thing is, and this is especially true for conservatives and bigots, what counts as “American,” regardless of citizenship paperwork or what arbitrary plot of land you were born in, is ultimately left to their own interpretation.
But apparently the only acceptable way to demand basic human dignity and freedom is to stand politely in line with a ballot. I think we’ve reached a phase in society where the real call to action makes people uncomfortable. Nobody wants rubber bullets to the face.
