Latin Sütterlin (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ausgangsschrift#/media/Datei:S...) has an x without backtracking. At first it looks a bit weird with the two loops, but I think they are exaggerated for didactical reasons. If you train a bit you can make it look like an x by making the loops thinner. Put differently, this is the "opposing c's"-method, without lifting the pen between the two c's.

How weird a book club that actively ignores the style of writing would be!

> Well, in case of a bank it can. And it happens on a daily basis.

You mean it happens when a bank borrows money from a central bank, right?

Not every balance sheet expansion constitutes the creation of money, e.g. when you put money on your bank account, the bank's balance sheet grows, but the money is not newly created.

The fact that f(L^2) is positive can be seen without inspecting coordinates: after all it is the length of e_i', hence positive.

> This implementation uses a randomised incremental algorithm to compute the 3D convex hull of the spherical points.

This makes me think he uses the Euclidean geometry of the surrounding three-dimensional space. But of course spherical geometry is induced by the surrounding Euclidean geometry, so the results are the same as using spherical geometry directly.

Btw, the unicode-out-of-the-box version of LaTeX is called LuaLaTeX and ships with TeX Live.

Thanks. If I understand correctly, Google AI Studio is listed as a Partner, which means they provide (at least) 60000$/year.

Some people have an arrow on top of their head, and when you approach them there is a dialog balloon with "...". If you click on them they give you a task.

Have you compared this to using lua in lualatex?

You are comparing the regulation of business practices to the breach of human rights. Do you also think your water company should be allowed to poison the water coming from your tap?

My Firefox on Linux zooms fine with both renderers. Text selection doesn't work though. Also the cursor doesn't adapt when hovering text, a button etc.

One may argue that Apple is to blame for both instances ;-)

I agree that one can see the ad as depicting "destruction of human experience". This does not mean that my day is ruined after viewing the ad. Disliking the ad and calling it what it is does not mean one is not tough.

Iirc the software sold by the NSO group is considered a weapon under Israel law, so it is somewhat regulated. Not as heavily as nukes though.

This begs the question: Is there a compelling reason why selling weapons to other states should be legal?

> If you think that X is better, just use it, and live with its unfixable issues.

Out of curiosity: What are those issues with X? On my day to day use of Xubuntu I don't encounter any problems. What would I gain from switching to Wayland?
