Same for me. I tried DT for 2 years but never got comfortable with it. Lightroom just works for me from editing to keywording and geotagging. And the AI masking stuff in Lightroom is really good.

I think yearly releases were much better. I feel a lot of sites and software now have constant change you can’t keep up with and often the change doesn’t really improve anything. Reddit would be a good example. I constantly have buttons disappear and rep appear or move around. Same in YouTube. Much friction for no benefit.

Army of interns should about right. I always suspect that Teams is developed by some beginners who are learning Scrum.

But yes, Windows 95 to Windows 2000 were a huge jump in usability. From Windows 8 on and the “Metro” interface they threw it all away.

That’s what I do. But it’s a little bit of pain to unfreeze your credit with three bureaus when you want a new credit card. Wish there was a way to do this in one place.

" they have stagnated as their profit have soared but like most things"

That's the preferred mode for a lot of managers. There are only a few company leaders who can push a company forward and keep it innovative. You could argue Apple is at that stage. Profits are strong but their innovation output is pretty low compared to the resources they have.

"A layoff gives managers the opportunity to fire people who they've wanted to fire for a while"

This may be true sometimes but I have seen plenty of layoffs where whole projects/departments got axed based on not very good information. A lot of C*O people make these decisions based on very flimsy information.

Totally agree. There should be a standard that uses access keys and provides APIs to access the data. If that existed I could easily cobble something together with some python scripts and a database.

I still miss MS Money. It did everything I needed and I didn't hand over my account passwords to a cloud service like Mint. It's kind of mindboggling that this got ever accepted as the way to do things.

Bread machine.

Making bread with a mixer is fun but takes a lot of time. With the bread machine there really is no reason to buy preservative and sugar laden bread from the store.
