I've been in IT for over 13 years. i really admired people at Silicon Valley trying to come up with new (old concept) to replace existing product. NoSql is a flop. It didn't take over SQL or make much of impact and now we got this.
How about asp.net webforms? There are still a lot of projects tie up in webforms and not cost effective to rewrite it in mvc. It seem like vNext on Os X and Linux is only for MVC.

Your question should be how China is blocking out other tech companies unless they are willing to share their user info or join a state-owned venture so they can learn your technology, process and know-how then push you out. You make it sound like no one from U.S. want China or other market.
The FACT TO THE MATTER is how other countries is either making it extremely difficult for U.S. tech company to enter or corrupted to hell that you have to pay out of your ass in each and every step of the way to do business with them.

Why so many Visa and MasterCard ass kissing here? It doesn't matter what you guys think of Russia and Putin. Visa and Mastercard ain't innocent here either. They fudged their rate and have been sued multiple time since their existence.
Personally, I don't think any country should rely on Visa or Mastercard since like the article said any countries that face U.S. sanction is basically fucked. This is equivalent of using closed source software to run your govrt.
Russia or any countries for that matter have the rights and should develop their own domestic payment transaction.
This is nothing new. IT consulting companies have been doing this for years. I was at Avanade briefly and the a lot of people hired are fresh grads who work with more sr. devs on client project.
