Try finding any public space in the USA where there is not blaring background music. Good luck. I always felt the reason Starbucks plays deafening music is to discourage people from lingering. It certainly has the effect on me, and I pity the poor employees.
"It is uncomfortable to read the study’s authors praising labs for their careful work when they get things right, but offering sophomoric excuses for them when they get things wrong."
But not surprising.... they want to continue to work in the field, after all !
My wife worked for a large law firm that decided to standardize on SAP. That's sensible - there are loads of legal practice management suites out there that are designed to cope with the peculiar demands of legal billing - so let's ignore all those and buy a product that doesn't do it, and spend millions adding customization to get what we want.
Of course the project was killed after 3/4 years and millions spent.
A good thing for SAP that in the large firms they target, mediocrity floats upwards!
The Skype UWP app is horribly buggy. My wife is forced to use Skype for Business, I swear the first 20 minutes of each call is people getting kicked off, people who can't be heard, etc.
