Sounds neat! Also kind of funny, because I already use Fly machines as a bit of a playground for some personal projects and really like it for that purpose. I have minor issues, some of which this blog post directly talks about, but nothing that has held me back.
Also I like a lot of what you get built-in with Fly machines(ex:Grafana). So I am curious how this would fit in my workflow. Maybe Sprites for rapid development and toy projects, and move to a Fly machine when I need something a little more beefy?

While it's technically not a fungus, I had my first experience with Fuligo septica, or Dog Vomit mold. My wife were gardening in the late evening and went inside as it got dark. About an hour later I let the dogs out and this yellow mass was in the mulch, probably about 6x5" in size. We assumed it was vomit from a racoon or something, but figured it out when it grew back the next day (in two spots this time). I would remove it every morning, but it would grow back for the entire week in different spots in the mulch. It was fascinating, but incredibly gross and kind of creepy!

The thing that kills me is the handful of responses of people defending it by basically saying "people will go to the movies after covid", without the context of where AMC was at before covid. The place I work is on Premium currently. I was starting to look into using some of their application security tools until I realized like 90% of them are Ultimate/Gold features. It was a huge bummer, especially because I don't have the case yet for getting us to upgrade to Ultimate just for those features.
I mean good luck getting rid of the biggest games around then. The majority of the top 10 games on Steam are multiplayer games with anti-cheat systems in place. Even outside of Steam, Riot and Blizzard have games with huge player bases and they all use anti-cheat systems.
I have done the opposite. Before this, I would do take out once or twice a week and just pick it up on my way home from work. Never used delivery apps. Since lock down, I use Doordash 2-3 times a week.
I feel like I have heard rumors about amazing closed door tech demos for Magic Leap for years now, so I always assumed that's how they got so much money. The question then is did they just have a really good pitch/canned demo, or do a good job of stirring up rumors and riding off that.

I have a friend who moved to Alaska last year for work last year and will probably be there for a few more years. We had discussions about the fund recently because this is the first year he qualifies for it. He will very much be in that camp of using the check in the fall to splurge and will do so until he is able to move in a few years.
As an outsider, it seems frustrating to me that the funds aren't used to improve the state (schools, utilities, infrastructure). I've expressed this to my friend and kind of derided him a bit for being what I see as part of the problem. In reality I guess I can't really blame him for taking the money and (eventually) running, but it just feels wrong to me.
Going to join others by saying I wouldn't want a higher resolution, and would actually prefer no camera. I got a new Dell Latitude last year, that when speced out, is probably in line with the Macbook Pro lineup, and it has similar camera specs.
