True. Like rickyc091 pointed out, pis lying around and programming language would be a major plus for choosing it. An alternative for this problem would be https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/onion/omega2-5-iot-comp... Onion Omega 2 is more awesomer than esp8266( atleast according to the kickstarter video ).. $5 and runs linux out of the box, has wifi module built into it and has mods if we need them.. like pi zero.. I'll be getting mine in a week.. worth checking out..

True, but that could also be because they have other people's info. My primary search engine is still Google, but sometimes for fun i do use DDG and it serves way better pages than bing or yahoo.. It's just way too awesome. I'm not against data collection until it's for the benefits of the user, and duck duck go might be doing just that and anonymously. Google too, but they have way too much information about us than they should (which is kind of their business model, adsense). But i hope to see this project grow, for the healthy competition sake. :)

Its true that org mode is useful for organising various stuff, but it can also do other things, literate programming. it also lets you work with multiple programming languages at the same time. I think that is more powerful than even the jupyter notebooks. http://orgmode.org/worg/org-contrib/babel/intro.html

Cool work around. Just adding another cool way to get laptops IP without ifconfig. AVAHI. install avahi daemon (comes pre installed with most distros) and your laptop can be referred with a domain name(generally LAPTOPNAME.local, "local" domain). By using this you won't have to worry about the changing IPs, you always refer to the laptop with that name. Very handy.
