Wrong George Goble - this is the computer scientist not the actor.

Sorry to hear. I remember George running the EE PDP-11 as a time share system with Lear Siegler ADM-3A terminals at Purdue while the CS department (as part of the school of science) was using punch cards! The EE department had a room with 10 or so ADM-3As connected to a single PDP-11 that had a few 100KBs of RAM (512KB?).

(photos of ADM-3A at http://dunfield.classiccmp.org/altair/altair5.htm It has 24 lines of 80 characters with green text on black background plus some graphics characters which could be used to draw pictures.)

Here's a service in a medium sized town of Colorado:

"Large or Complex Projects - extensive curb modifications or custom installations can cost $1,200-$3,000 or more. These projects often involve additional planning, permits, or structural considerations, which can increase overall costs. Many jobs are completed within the lower part of this range.

Full Replacement - complete curb or sidewalk replacements typically start around $3,000 and can exceed $5,000 for larger, more involved projects. These are less common and usually reserved for significant repairs or upgrades, with most projects falling into the lower to mid portions of this range."

Has anyone worked on a project with the "Surgical Team" organization? If so, how well did it work compared to other team organizations?

I think the idea had a lot of merit, but have never seen it in practice.

Is this old news? I wasn't able to find anything about it in the LA Times or the SF Chronicle.

The two launches scheduled for today (Nov. 14th 2025) are both on the East coast and are scheduled to be within an hour (22:08 EST and 22:55 EST according to Spaceflight Now) from: Launch Complex 39A, Kennedy Space Center, Florida, and SLC-40, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida.

If those launches go on schedule, that will mean 4 launches (New Glenn, Atlas 5, and two Falcon 9s) in 31 hours from the Cape Canaveral area in Florida.

Yes, the republicans hold a majority in the Senate, but the Senate rules require 60 votes to stop debate on a bill (ie cloture). So, the Democratic members are holding up the CR by not voting for cloture.

Cloture is a very valuable tool for the minority in the Senate to keep the majority in check. Cloture is just a rule which can be changed by just a majority vote. I think it's a mistake for either party to do away with this rule. For example, during the Obama Administration, the Democratic members of the Senate changed the rules to allow federal judges to be approved with just majority vote. Then, during the first Trump Administration, the Republican members changed the rules to include supreme court judges, which lead to the current supreme court.
