swanros·9 jaar geleden·discussComing from an imperative language background, it certainly took some time for me to start using and understanding functional constructs. But the nice thing is that once you pass that bump, it's a hell of a freeway to go down.
swanros·9 jaar geleden·discussAgreed, the fact that you're saying you can't nest if statements is a sign that you still don't get the grasp of functional programming.cases, conds, with statements, recursion, pattern matching...
swanros·9 jaar geleden·discussI experienced the same. Once you start, it's hard to stop. An amazing community around this awesome language is hard to let go.
swanros·10 jaar geleden·discussThat's the point. With "here, copy and paste this code" at least you (can) read what you're pasting into your project. Most of people learning just "install this module" without actually caring about what's inside or any implementation details.Licencing is a whole other beast worth of another post.
swanros·10 jaar geleden·discussTell that to them. That's my point! Why I didn't mention StackOverflow, for instance?
