https://docs.docker.com/ai/sandboxes/ Any idea on how that compares to this docker feature in development?

I work in the research space so it's mostly prototype code. I have unlimited access to codex 5.x-xhigh. I rarely directly alter the code codex generates at this point. My productivity has significantly increased.

Why? When I think of boulder I do not think of “people that resonate with the American public”

What's going to get worse? Currently parents get absolutely shafted by the tax system as the tax credits are next to nothing relative to the amount of time, effort, and capital it takes to raise a child.

Currently the cost of raising children is privatized while the benefits are socialized.

I perform software engineering at a research oriented institution and there are some projects I can now prototype without writing a line of code. The productivity benefits are massive

> I'm here to pay taxes and get the bare minimum back

I find this point of view to be profoundly sad and I hope it’s not shared by the majority of immigrants to germany

It's a shame that there's not the option of providing parents with the choice of free child care or some kind of cash subsidy.

A bit tangential, but the overall problem is that cost of having children is privatized while the benefit is socialized. I'd love to see age and number of children progressively factored into the income tax bracket people pay. Something like a 60-80% tax rate for all income >150k for those >40 without children so those that benefit the most from future generations being born are helping to shoulder the cost

> If there is trade the best way to handle it is probably to count the emissions for making things in country X that get consumed in country Y as being emissions in Y. With that correction China comes out even better).

Why?

>For me, life would be really boring without children. It's more fun to watch her have fun than it is to have fun yourself, if that makes sense.

This is one of the reasons I'm very excited to have my first child (soon!) and reminds me of the pleasure of marriage.

By nature I'm never really satisfied with anything I do and am always pushing for "more". Marriage and hopefully children has made it so I can relax and not feel bad about wasting time and not pursuing the next step. I just need to care for my wife and my soon to be child. I've got a constant north star to help guide any decision I make and I always have a purpose

>As the founder of a startup, I would routinely pull 100 hour weeks

I don't understand how anyone could be remotely productive under these settings unless it was all grind work. How many "fresh" hours of work would you say this was equivalent to?

I'm with you on the kindle oasis. I was a little hesitant due to the price, but my last kindle lasted for years and the build quality is so high. I also love the tinted backlight as it makes reading in bed so much easier
