I see an opportunity for supplying enterprizes with an easy to integrate "turn back time" solution. And I don't mean backups, but rather filesystems / SSD disks / ... It will be interesting to see how this gets solved.
I'm not sure I would agree with New Cooperative's assessment that this could be a bigger impact than the pipeline attack earlier this year. They are the 51st largest farm cooperative in the US...compared with the Colonial Pipeline providing 45% of the fuel on the East Coast. Food spoilage is one thing, but the impact of not having fuel caused not only shortages but panic as well.
Maybe they could apply patches occasionally since they're so important to the economy.
any company big enough to be targeted can make up some excuse to be "critical" but yet still can't be bothered to step up their cybersecurity?
