I’ve found it useful to clean car battery terminals in a pinch. If a car is on the edge of starting, cleaning off that little bit of corrosion can help get you going to drive to an auto parts store.
It's also great for removing the stains off of coffee pots.
So is any acid. Citric acid is commonly used for the purpose.
People really seem to be into making everything a sugary coca cola mess though.
