One of the lesser looked at perspectives of homelessness (and the housing crisis) is that saloons and boarding houses were the norm for the then "middle" class.

Nowadays, weekly hotels have some stigmas attached; and even then don't have the services that boarders would have (breakfast, hand laundry).

We could normalize post high school and post college dormitory living again.

This is great. This increases the housing supply, helps intergenerational socialization, is budget (utility base fees) friendly, and climate (increases used existing structure utility, the space and appliances will be better utilized) friendly
