Tell HN: Twitter started mass suspending apps today for no reason

Just got an email about 4 hours ago saying:

    Hello,
     This is a notice that your app - XXXXX - has been suspended from accessing the Twitter API.

    Please visit developer.twitter.com to sign up to our new Free, Basic or Enterprise access tiers.

I'm already on the new Free Tier so no idea why this is about. Not to mention, the switch is supposed to be at the end of this month, not today.

Searching "twitter app suspended" [1] you can find hundreds of similar.

Thanks for the info! That explained why one of my other apps, despite also receiving this email, is still functional.

Yeah, if I go to the developer portal, I still get the "Application Received" page from a couple of years ago when I asked for v2 access. Can't do anything else (much like many people replying to the twitterdev account pointing this out.)

I think for now my Twitter bots are just dead until the sociopath is no longer in charge and they revert all his changes.

They would have to move the users automatically to the free plan and give them the warning about reaching the quota, if it would be the case, with a grace period.
