I understand where this is coming from, but to be honest you're better off learning Git more. You can always query for the last 24 hours of commit by author X and simply summarize your git history.
I get it may not be as clear as this tool, but then again you could always do it five minutes before your stand up and jot it all down on a post it note.. one less tool to depend on.

Using git in that fashion isn't necessarily the right tool for the right job imho. What may be queried using git may be part of the DSU equation; however, there are a myriad of other things you might need to share during DSU that have nothing to do with/or found in git. For example: git won't record the fact that you've spent time navigating during a pairing session, that you've picked up/wrote up a ticket, performed a spike, the fact that you're blocked, time spent unblocking someone, collaborated with another person or team, knowledge shares, meetings you attended or need to attend, etc., etc., etc. there's 1001 things. Hey, if git works for you, awesome.
