Ah an essential comma in that first paragraph, that even in its presence I managed to read over and thought at first that it was about “Martin Griffiths, a post office operator who took his own life by “drip feeding” compensation payments to his widow and lining up a media lawyer to protect its reputation” (the article does include the comma after “his own life” that I omitted here, and it was only the possessive “its” that tipped me off to my own misreading).
