In a different comment, I had mentioned the story of salvaging a Roman trade galleon and how one of the divers had made off with the lead keel weights (which turn out to be valuable because they don't have radiation in them) and while I have not been able to find an online link to that story, this one came across and it is of a similar vein. Pre-atomic age raw materials without the Cesium signature are "valuable."
I recently watched a video about the lead on an ancient Roman ship: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0A9M5wHBA4
