No, for the way the anon HR folks and the company as a whole handled it.

Sad. Well, I've lost a lot of admiration for Cloudflare. Shame.

Agreed. At least with Brave Search premium you don't need an account for the paid session. I wish Kagi did the same. Instead, it's a "Trust me bro" that they aren't logging search queries.

Sadly, due to some scientists no longer including ethics in their research, by fudging data to keep their funding, siding with corporate interests, and showing their elitism by treating their word for gospel as if they're infallible.

Wow. Straight up theft by the people meant to "protect and serve". And people really wonder why I'm a Libertarian.

I operated N4BB.com, which was one of the largest BlackBerry fan sites. We had many insider contacts and broke many large, exclusive stories. Fun times. Miss them.

Unfortunately, the way Mike Lazaridis was depicted in the recent Docudrama about BlackBerry it wasn't too far from the truth. They really believed Apple was lying about an all-touch, physical keyboard-less phone. Following the media buzz about the iPhone, Verizon put a lot of pressure on RIM to release a competitive device. The half-baked Storm 9500 was so rushed it released with a non-touch optimized OS that was hardly responsive to the piezo screen. Not to mention the bezel had such a gap around it that pocket lint often got stuffed in and under the screen, preventing the physical click. Sad.

Compounded by other failed strategic decisions/devices such as the PlayBook tablet and refusal to pay triple A developers to port their apps to BB10, it was a nail in the coffin by their own doing. There was such a hierarchical structure that completely stifled innovation.

A bitter-sweet story indeed.

I've got a couple of side projects that I've built primarily out of the necessity for them to exist. I'm deeply in the red and who knows if I'll ever get in the black. They have taught me a lot along the way, which if in the end is all that I've gained from them, then so be it.

// CoinFundIt -https://coinfundit.com

Decentralized, open-source, non-custodial, non-KYC Bitcoin and Altcoin crypto crowdfunding, donations, and atomic swap exchange.

It's built as a native reactJS web app. Also working towards iOS/Android apps. There is also a mirror of the service in IPFS and Tor.

The value proposition from the likes of GoFundMe and other services is that CoinFundIt allows uncensorable funding. The payments are directly paid out without any intermediary gatekeeping. We'll see if it ever catches on and helps folks who might live under a totalitarian regime.

// h4x0r army - https://h4x0r.army

I'm deep into infosec, cybersec, and hacking. I'm also a huge supporter of open Web and the fediverse.

Recently, I've spun up a Mastodon server which can support thousands of active members, for the purpose of building a community for hackers and other technologists.

The server name is sort of a joke and my admin account as well is for humour. As "1337 h4x0r" is an obvious joke at this point.

Along with real tips and news, I'll sometimes share memes and funny videos of pretend 1337 hacking. Nevertheless, registration is open, so all are welcome!

Thank you for the ability to share my side projects, cheers.

This is probably not a good thing for America and it’s Allies. As we see stronger relations being built by America’s enemies. BRICS now also placing pressure on USD dominance. Interesting times ahead.

Although the extensions will install, good luck getting them to work properly. Even the ones that the browser recommends to install, they are extremely buggy still. I hope one day they’re able to get extensions working better.

Agree with this statement. The problem now becomes not a choice of what to believe, but what you’re told to believe.

No? I’m saying it’s better for them to stick with Cloudflare for those reasons including government agencies being able to better monitor them for illegal content, despite my personal dislike of that doxxing site.

The way that Cloudflare works, it likely provides an ability to exfil and track active visitors to the site for three-letter agencies. Forcing Cloudflare to drop them might push them to use non-US services like what happened with 8chan and might not be the best move. Either way, these sites that host ilk always find an anti-DDoS provider >:(
