exactly. Booking.com etc can just use OpenAI APIs to enable a similar voice/ chat interface on top of their search, and then the UX is not limited to 'cards'.
The UI 'cards' will naturally becoming ever increasing, and soon you end up back with a full app within ChatGPT or ChatGPT just becomes an app launcher.
The only advantage I can see is if ChatGPT can use data from other apps/ chats in your searches e.g. find me hotels in NYC for my upcoming trip (and it already knows the types of hotels you like, your budget and your dates)
We definitely do NOT dismiss it!!! It just means you need to spend a lot more time finding the real reason, or maybe you are getting traffic from the wrong group of people who have no interest in your product anyway.
Good example would be Product Hunt or Techcrunch as a traffic source, mostly useless for any testing as everyone on those sites is just interested in 'new products' or startups and is unlikely to be in your target demo.
To clarify what I mean by "doesn't solve major problem": it actually might solve a major problem for them but due to shit messaging/ UX/ onboarding/ trust/ bugs/ whatever they haven't realised it.
So you are correct but all those things I just consider to be part of the product as a whole.
Below the ski resort of Verbier (Swiss) there is bunker which has been converted into a hostel. I've stayed there for a week and it is very bad, and this is just sleeping there at night. Think tiny 3 story bunks, 10+ person dorms, 2 showers and almost no communal area.
Our experience when trying this approach is 90% reply with 'lack of time' which is not the true reason but basically means the product didn't solve a major problem for them.
I have been thinking about this a lot. How were you able to measure the fact you were ranking poorly before making the switch?
We use a .st domain, and whilst it is not explicitly mentioned on Googles generic list there are very few localized .st sites so I am hoping Google is counting it as a generic domain.
