In Texas, you have to go outside of the city limits. South Carolina you can get them year round. There are other states that are legal year round, but I don't remember them off the top of my head.

There are some states where you can still buy them year round. Holiday or not. South Carolina comes to mind because I was there a few months ago. They have giant stores all over the state.

Back around 1982, fireworks were a big no in my neighborhood. My friend across the street had some bottle rockets and he decided to shoot one off in the middle of the street. We didn't have a bottle to put it in to light it, so we wedged it between two bricks. He lit it and a split second before it went off, it tilted to point directly down the street. It fired off blazing down the middle of the road. At the same time a cop car just happened to turn the corner and that damn thing popped on the hood of the cop car. We scattered like ants. My friend that lit it ran inside, I hid in his garage under his moms car and the other two hauled ass home.

Well the cop parked out front and knocked on his door. His dad answered and they spent which felt like an hour (probably 10-15 minutes) talking about what happened. He got in big trouble and grounded. I stayed in the garage until the smoke cleared, then ran home. I didn't see him for at least a week.

Your post reminded me about that incident. They were regulated in Fort Worth Texas 44 years ago. I haven't thought about that day in years! LOL! Thanks for the fun memory.

Right? The installers conveniently made them within baseball bat range. Luckily, we don't have them where I live (small West Texas town).

It is kind of weird seeing inside someone house. I only went a few pages in, but what the hell is this?

Temperature Humidity Index. Or as they now call it for normies, "feels like temperature"

It's just a heat transfer. Refrigerant inside the evaporator picks up heat and transfers it to the condensing unit outside.

They don't create heat. It was there in the first place, just a different location.

Sony still uses them. Their security updates were sub par the last time I checked.

I rooted my old S3 probably around 2016 I had laying around. There was an exploit called "let it rain" and that got me root access. Then on XDA Developers I found several custom ROM'S. Someone even created a Nougat ROM for that thing later on. That was the last version I was able to load on it. I sure did learn a lot back then.

I've thought that too... especially Bluetooth. I know it's possible with Wi-Fi signal strength.

Is it a coincidence most smartphone manufacturers were suddenly all on board with removing the 3.5mm jack and forced Bluetooth? A mesh network of sorts like Amazon is doing with Ring. I even sometimes forget to save my battery and turn Bluetooth off when I'm not using my earbuds. It's probably a false sense of security having it disabled because I'm sure it's doing something in the background anyways. I can't say for sure though. Kind of like years ago with Google getting caught with the whole location data thing. I'm sure the average Joe doesn't care if Bluetooth is enabled 24/7.

I try and not be on the tin foil bandwagon, but every once and a while I come across things that make you go hmmm...

TRT has literally changed my life. I've been on it for about 3 years now. My lethargy went away first. My energy levels increased next. Then I noticed increased stamina when doing physical activities. This was a tremendous help at shedding 60 lbs. The last thing I noticed six months in was libido. My girlfriend doesn't complain. ;) At 54, TRT has been life changing. I physically feel 30 again.

Back in the 80's, I'd call my best friend and when his Dad would answer, he would say, "yello". Is this a North Eastern thing? His family was from Pennsylvania.

Jerry Berg is the person you're probably thinking of. His YouTube channel is Barnacules Nerdgasm.

He's a super smart programmer, but seems to be suffering from depression since Microsoft laid him off. He often talks about his issues when he livestreams Tech Talk on Saturdays.

I hope this doesn't become a trend across the NWS. In Texas. When major weather events are developing, I regularly check forecast discussions as they are updated.

It's far more valuable than looking at the plain Jane forecast with pretty pictures. In the discussions, they'll break down my region from north to south or east to west which is valuable. The west Texas dry line plays a huge roll in our west Texas severe weather and they discuss which area of is more likely to be impacted. It's not just a broad forecast.
