Many excellent things were formulated in the 70s and didn't catch on because supporting technologies weren't practical yet. It was an excellent time to be a fresh PhD

I especially agree on the approach regarding pay. Contrast that with "I have an offer from Company X that is 20% more, can you match it?" In the former case, you can be seen as expressing a sort of loyalty, in the latter case you live with a little extra workplace hostility even if your current employer agreed to match the offer. In that sense, when it's time to go it's best to go.

The professional habit I developed to manage scenario 2 started out as upward directed leadership and sometimes turned into simply coaching my bosses to be better themselves. There's a part that jumps out to me in the OP, the requirements changed so a lot of his work went to waste. Incredibly common. Equally common is management not realizing that it's something that they should take ownership of.

That'd be really helpful. I hope there is one.

You might be surprised at the amount of bipartisan support you would find for legislation that favors American manufacturing and morality. The opposition in red states would be from an enlightened industrialist's view that even these terrible jobs are still jobs that lift Indian families out of poverty and that this is part of the hard road to the middle class. Furthermore, this proposed legislation might harm constituents by increasing the prices they pay for phones.

That said, you really only need one state in the entire country. With one state the options available to Apple become: eat the fines, change, refuse to sell in that state, or create an entirely new SKU for compliant devices.

I'd suggest that the best thing we as consumers could do is speak to our state legislators about creating requirements for cellular devices to be sold in the state. Apple could do better, or they might just try to counter the legislative effort. Either way costs are imposed on Apple for evil. When it's less expensive to do better than it is to be evil, consumers will see change. Just look at what California legislators have been able to do to vehicles.

I agree the disease is scary. The antibiotic regiment has real side-effects, I've known it to cause sunburns from casual sunlight exposure.

Indeed, it is not just "east northern states."

The nasal spray? An anesthesiologist told me that it's 1/10th as effective as IV therapy due to some aspect of bioavailability and how it ultimately didn't produce the same sort of norketamine levels required.

edit: For context, he subsequently complained of how big pharma was conspiring to destroy ketamine iv therapy access in order to better control the "legal ketamine" market.

You hit it square on. The hell of terrible lows contrasted with after previously unknown highs abated but the gasoline-in-her-veins anger persisted, and the coping skills she had from more than a decade of incredibly bitter therapy stopped being right for the situation.

Did you get any assistance from insurance?

The actual implementation of the therapy varies from place to place. In my locale, the treatment does not involve any guides. It's really unfortunate

My wife went through the therapy. Three days a week for two weeks. It was hell, she changed as a person. There was a lot more expression of anger, she described it like having gasoline poured into her veins when they were already on fire. But, a month later, she was able to interact with her family members again. Without PTSD triggering for the first time in years. It really reduced the control PTSD had over her life. I'm not sure if it was worth it though.
