Not sure of the current progress with breeding and cultivation, but there is a naturally occuring caffeine-free coffee plant. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffea_charrieriana

If you don't mind a baking soda toothpaste, then another option is Trader Joe's. They made a baking soda & fluoride toothpaste that is SLS free. Been using it for a number of years now... Though it's been briefly discontinued and is slated to be back later this year.

Superhots also produce capsaicin in the fruit, unique from non-superhots. Removing the pith from a ghost, reaper, etc., will significantly reduce the heat but still contain a lot of capsaicin from vesicles present in the fruit itself.

Asus makes a 14" AMD laptop with a 16:10 4K OLED screen. Been eyeing it as a possibility. https://www.asus.com/Laptops/For-Home/Zenbook/Zenbook-14X-OL...

Anytime I hear sundials, I now think of my trip to Jantar Munter in Jaipur, India. Home to world's largest sundial, accurate to two seconds.

Also home to many other instruments of measurement, absolutely fascinating.

I've been drinking hop tea and hop seltzer from HopLark. It's not trying to replicate beer. I like that with the exception of some limited releases, they're just carbonated tea and hops or carbonated water and hops. Unsweetened and have both caffeinated and caffeine free variants.

My favorite so far has been a spruce tip tea with sabro hops.

I haven't quit alcohol consumption entirely, but I limit it to once every few months if I feel like having one, typically with family.

Also working on just making it myself, with tea, hop pellets, and using a "drink mate" (like sodastream but can carbonate any liquid, not just water) to carbonate it.

I think so. This was posted a few weeks ago ahead of the 248 release. http://0pointer.net/blog/unlocking-luks2-volumes-with-tpm2-f...

I'm gonna try it out once my Solo V2 arrives.

The title sparked a memory of someone using a flatbed scanner and some software back in 2002 to extract audio from scanned images of record tracks.

https://www.cs.huji.ac.il/~springer/DigitalNeedle/index.html

Results were interesting though fairly unintelligible. Practicality aside, wonder if/how much this method could be improved today?

The homebrew scene for dreamcast is impressive and still surprisingly active.

Good list of emulators available for the DC too, though in various states of functionality: https://dcemulation.org/index.php?title=Emulators
