So it's not that important whether they are 'intelligent' or not (the definition of 'intelligence' is controversial) but their integration into society (very poor so far, as the author shows). These days there's a great book "Competitive Programming" by Halim, 3rd edition (2013) [1]. Very well written. Amazon states there's only a paperback edition but you can visit the book's page and order its hardcover version. However, I'm linking to Amazon for reviews.
I want to add that not only the price is crucial but a bit of security. Using a closed OS with belief you're not being tracked? Well, they are not so stupid.
The best choice for such things is a chinese no-name-smartphone on Android or just an old Nokia on Symbian^3 or 9.4.
