I made this web app to solve my choice paralysis while trying to find a video to watch while eating, which often resulted in my food getting cold before I found something interesting enough to eat.
I liked the way the users didn't have much choice in the cable era except for what channel to watch and which adverts to endure, so I tried to do the same with YT.
The web app is designed for a global sync TV-like passive viewing with curated topic-wise channels, retro aesthetics but some other features too such as:
- Sleep timer (Coz I often need some noise to sleep)
- commercial-style breaks between every few videos
- Linear episodes that play at specific time every day
- Ability to curate your own channel!
Built it for myself, but I’m curious whether other people would use something like this too.
Interesting project! I wish the "Their Field" section started at the same row as the other fields (perhaps as column3) so that I can see the years and compare the history better but great project!
I like the idea but the controls feel very janky. Jumping shouldn't stop my X axis momentum. There could have been more sprites for a smoother animation. And allow the users to jump on those bricks!
