That would indeed be fantastic. V8 has had so much optimization whereas CPython has had very little of it, though Pypy deserves a mention here. They've been doing fantastic work, but I guess there's always the curse of the reference implementation being the popular one.

Same with the Arduino framework, if we're talking about languages/frameworks:

They'll be traces in a PCB, you will probably be able to cut the trace (and fry the transmitter).

Tell that to the slightly hard-of-hearing bookstore employee who, when I asked for Minecraft, gave me a copy of Mein Kampf.

I also get (mild) anxiety from weed but LSD gives me a nice, relaxed, "everything is great" feeling. Shrooms are very similar, though I get more introspective and depressed unless I'm somewhere nice. I don't like doing LSD/shrooms in my flat or in crowded places, because they bring me down. I'll need to try on a beach or in a forest next time.

Yes, in mathematics, not programming. And a function that doubles a number isn't idempotent even by that definition.

I dispute your example. If you call f(2) and it always returns 4, it's idempotent and side-effect-free. If you call f() and it returns 4, then 8, etc, it is neither.

What they do is load a page with a form redirect to do the POST, I believe, so link loaders won't follow it and you'll be safe.

I wonder why vendors and buyers aren't using distributed markets like OpenBazaar or the like. Are those not anonymous?

Oh, I see, yes, I remember the program now (I haven't used Windows in years). It's the continuation of the original, light Windows Media Player from Windows 98, before it got all iTunesy. Yes, MPC is a fantastic piece of software.

Use MPV, it's pretty much the successor of MPC and it's fantastic.

Ah, I see, yes. It would be probabilistic, unless there was some way to coordinate sharing (eg downloading the least shared file first).

Wouldn't IPFS be much, much more suitable for this purpose?

Isn't a big part of it the client saying that "it would be nice if..." versus "we can't use this unless"?

Are you also browsing the web by issuing HTTP commands directly in a telnet session?

I'm not that psyched about automatic return-based linebreaks. Everyone thinks they should use linebreaks to align their text, and the system should just ignore all single line breaks.

The current behavior of Markdown solves this problem very well. I don't want the newlines I enter for non-wrapping editors to remain in the generated HTML.

I know, that's what I was saying.

Of course it would still apply. The difference here is that some people have a different (yet still immutable) definition for what a game is.

The fallacy is when you keep changing the definition to fit the data.

Python Web development is still niche? Are any of these companies looking for remote work, by any chance? :-P

That doesn't make it true.
